Working with communities

Partnering with Native communities

We work directly with communities to understand what support would be useful. Each community can decide what type of project they want to create, and we will build the project around that.

Our approach

Building projects around community needs

We bring together student volunteers to support Native communities through tutoring, STEM, engineering, and other projects based on what the community is looking for.

Projects can include tutoring programs, STEM activities, test preparation, engineering workshops, technology support, or other areas where students can help.

Each community can decide what type of support would be most helpful, and we will work together to create a project that fits those needs.

Starting a project

  1. 1

    Community priorities

The community identifies what support would be useful.

  2. 2

    Planning

We discuss the goals, details, and format of the project.

  3. 3

    Organizing volunteers

We bring together students with the skills needed for the project.

  4. 4

    Beginning the project

We work with the community and adjust based on feedback.

  5. 5

    Continuing support

We stay connected and discuss how the project can continue.
